So, ladies and gentlemen.... It all phased out like our dearest Government had planned.... They have been ruling us for 58 years(excluding the period under BJP) and if you were wondering why they lasted so long, this cunning bit of "oh, we so want the reforms(while muttering 'just let the ball fall in our court')" has shown why, despite numerous instances of corruptions, despite an exponential crime rate, despite riots, rapes and murders, despite the dynastic nature of ruling(as opposed to the term "democracy" they through about) why the Congress Government has survived the test of time..
Kapil Sibal to his fellow Congressmen(during Anna Hazare's 1st fast) "Friends, Congressmen, Muslims(PS: that's the congress motto)...lend me your ears... I come to bury our "dictatorial rule " not to praise it..The evil that men do lives after them....The good is oft interred with their bones...So let it be with our rule..The noble Anna...He wants to change the way we rule this country..He threatens if we do not the only other source of income for our fellow rulers he shall not eat...And unlike Irom Shamilla he has decided to fast in Delhi, so the option of force feeding is ruled out.... But Anna is a noble man... So why not do what we have always do... Let us involve them and give people an impression that we our burying our dictatorship... Then simply by using our accrued skill we can isolate them and do what we want.... Anna is a noble man... And we want to bury our dictatorship"
By excluding the PM and the Higher judiciary from the purview of the lokpal the Congress has achieved exactly what it wants... And knowing the loopholes in any law, i am pretty confident they'll be able to protect their dear ministers as well..
1. Higher Judiciary: The Congress Party claims that by bringing the higher judiciary in the ambit of the lokpal would undermine the whole credibility of our democracy will be eroded... Here is an excerpt from "The Deccan Herald " on the corruption charges levied against our former Chief Justice K.G Balakrishnan : " As reported, Justice Balakrishnan’s son-in-law P V Sreenijin, who is a member of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, had contested the 2006 Assembly election from the Narakkal reserved constituency in Ernakulam district.
At that time, while filing his nomination papers, Sreenijin had declared he possessed no landed property and that his wife had only gold worth Rs 4.38 lakh and a little over Rs 1 lakh in cash.
Three years later, Sreenijin and his wife K B Sony, both lawyers, declared Rs 35 lakh while filing their income tax returns. However, according to reports now, the couple, who have not declared any sources of income other than their legal profession, own property worth crores and are constructing a river-front resort in Thrissur.
Several of these properties are worth many times more than the amounts for which they have been registered. The CPM’s youth wing, the DYFI, has claimed that whatever information had come out was only the tip of the ice-berg." And an excerpt from "Day and Night news" on the corruption charges levied against justice Nirmal Yadav : "A CBI special court today directed retired Justice Nirmal Yadav to appear for arguments on framing of corruption charges on May 18. Sanjay Mehta has this report.CBI Special Judge Ritu Tagore on Saturday issued notice for May 18 to retired Justice Nirmal Yadav, former Haryana Additional Advocate General Sanjeev Bansal, Delhi hotelier Ravinder Singh Bhasin, Panchkula realtor Rajiv Gupta and Chandigarh resident Nirmal Singh for May 18. The five are accused in the cash at judge’s doorstep case.
These charges are against the topmost officials in the judiciary and yet the Government has decided to keep them out of the purview of the lokpal. Do you know why? Because whenever corrupt politicians are in the doldrums it is their corrupt judiciary friends who become their saviors... Speaking of which don't you think Justice Santosh Hegde's report on BSY has come at a very opportune time ?? Just before the Monsoon session of the Parliament when everyone was hoping the Opposition would barrage the Government which attacks on the numerous corruption charges levied against them.... Another smart move by the Government, I must admit(Thankfully BSY has resigned) 2. PM: Dr. Manmohan Singh is not corrupt... I can bet my life on it... He was never a politician... He was simple hearted economist who put our country on the path of development... And a puppet who is used by Italian forces to run the country... But a former PM, Mr HD Devegowda has a, well bit of a chequered past : "An aide of Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa today claimed that the family of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda had purchased land, including commercial property, valued at Rs680 crore near the city.
A list of agricultural land and commercial property allegedly purchased in 2005-07 by Gowda and his family including his son, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, was released by BJ Puttaswamy, political secretary to Yeddyurappa"(DNA news) So many corruption cases have gone down since that last 1 year... That were committed atleast 3-4 years ago... Was our PM completely unaware of these issues... Or was he asked to stay quiet by his conscience? Dear UPA Government, bringing the PM and Judiciary will not harm the democracy, it would strengthen it... It will weaken your dictatorship... And will make life worth living for the 1 billion + population of our country... Kindly stop fooling people... And stop buying votes.... People... Please vote carefully, do not get drawn to Good looking faces.... Look at the credibility of the candidate... Do not vote for a Government, which is shamelessly proud of its existence despite being neck deep in corruption... Do not vote for a Party which divided our country at Independence and has been dividing the country ever since... Jai Hind

The five are accused in the cash at judge’s doorstep case.
The delivery of Rs 15 lakhs in cash at the residence of Justice Nirmaljit Kaur of the Punjab and Haryana High Court had created a storm in August 2009. The amount was delivered by Parkash Ram, the clerk of Sanjeev Bansal. Later, the police and CBI claimed that the amount was actually meant for Justice Nirmal Yadav, who was then a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and had been wrongly delivered at Justice Nirmaljit Kaur’s residence. Justice Yadav was later transferred to the Uttrakhand High Court.
During investigation of the case, Delhi hotelier Ravinder Bhasin had claimed that the amount was meant for purchase of a property in Solan. The CB, however, termed the claim implausible as the property was valued at Rs 30 lakhs and Bhasin only had a 1/18th share.
After a two-year probe, the CBI had filed a closure report last year citing the government’s refusal to grant prosecution sanction against Justice Nirmal Yadav. However, the judge declined the CBI plea for closure of the case and directed the CBI to probe further.

The chargesheet stated that Justice Yadav was interested in the Solan property and other names had been included as co-purchasers just to circumvent the requirement of Himachal Pradesh laws that say that a non-farmer can buy a maximum of 500 square metres land only.
The CBI report also stated that Justice Yadav had availed valuable items and pecuniary advantage from Sanjeev Bansal and Bhasin. Sanjiv Bansal had purchased an executive class air ticket for Justice Yadav for the journey from Chandigarh to Delhi on August 2, 2008, it was claimed. Besides giving Rs. 2.5 lakhs to Justice Yadav, Bhasin had also given her a mobile phone for personal use, the CBI report added.
The CBI filed a chargesheet in the case on March 4, the day Justice Yadav was to retire. It charged Justice Yadav, Sanjeev Bansal, Ravinder Singh Bhasin and Rajiv Gupta for offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Bansal, Gupta and Nirmal Singh were also accused of fabricating evidence.
